REMINDER
I am going to post this every week up to the event itself. Friday the 10th August in the Arklow Bay Hotel. €30 buy in, (rebuy details to be advised). Gauranteeing a 1st place prize of €1500! The tickets are being sold thick and fast for this and there is talk of 100 plus players. I have also been told providing it runs weel, this could be made into an annual event.
€1500 1st place is not to be laughed at but I will stick my neck on the line here and say it will be a slog to win it, especially a fundraiser!! action can be very hot!!
Here is a picture of the flyer, and as I said above Ill comment and post more details every week before the event.
Saturday Night Poker
Star Poker Bray is on tonight and its the same tournament as a Friday Night "the double chance tournament. Be knocked out or go bust before the end of the break and you can rebuy again for €25 (20 plus 5 reg). Starts at 8.00pm and you can register up to 9.30pm. Blinds are 15 mins and a 10k starting stack. Refreshments served throughout and hot food served at the break.
Cash Tables available when enough players are around to start. blinds are 25/50c, 10% rake once a flop is seen and capped at €3 per pot. I think the minimum you can buy onto cash for is €25 and the Maximum is €200
Star seem to be getting 30 plus players everynight, so I can only assume tonight will be no different.
Spotted
I believe Reggie Corrigan was in Star Poker playing the Thursday Night Tournament. Reports are he was impressed with their facilities and said he would return. From what I know Reggie plays a bit of poker and see his biggest cash was for around €7500. Good to see players like this playing around Wicklow and maybe more could follow.
I have tweeted a number of poker players to see if they are ever dopwn Wicklow Area to call in and play a tournament not just in SStar but wherever there is one on!! So Dara O'Kearney, Jason Tomkins, Dara Davey and Roy "the boy" Brindley come on down, the action is hot!!!!

Set over Set, what a final hand ! Poker Jackpot rolls-over to next week.
Friday Night
The Weekend has Landed.........
Doyles Rathnew, starts at 8.00pm. Usually gets around 2 tables. €20 buy in and a starting stack of 2.5k and a 20 min clock. You can rebuy/topup 3 times and if your gone before the break you can buy a deadstack and the 3 topups for €50. All money taken in on the night goes back out in the prizefund. Will hopefully have a report here from tonight providing Peter is playing.
The Kennedy inn, Newtown. Starts at 8.00pm, again this game gets 2 tables. €20 buy in with a rebuy/topup for €20. Starting stack of 10k, 20 min blinds and a top up of 10k as well. This as i have pointed out before is a good game. Theres no messing and the play is usually quite strong. One of the better games around, in my opinion.
Star Poker Bray, have their €25 (20 plus 5 reg) double chance tournie. Bust or be knocked out before the end of the first break at 9.30pm and you can rebuy for a further €25. Monday Night Report for the Old Ship
Thanks to Craig, who continues to provide me with Pictures and Reports every week.
20 Runners tonight for our €30 Freezeout and we welcomed 4 new players to get almost 50 players on our leaderboard! There was an early exit for Egidijus Pukinskas who lost with the nut flush v full house in the first level!
Niall Higgins was the man to eliminate him and that early double up allowed him to open up his range, play aggressively and make the money with ease.. We paid the top 5 tonight and newcomer Barry Nugent was our bubble boy in 6th place.. There is nothibng worse than being the bubble but maybe Liam Power will disagree with that when he was all in with KK against Larry Deveraux who also held KK.. With 2 clubs on the flop and Larry holding the king of clubs it was pretty nerve racking for Liam.. A club on the turn gave him a horrible sweat and sure enough another club rivered to eliminate Liam in 7th place..
Larry Deveraux was our 5th place finisher to collect €30 and John O'Regan came 4th for €50.. It was a good night for "The Wicklow Niall's" as Niall O'Connor came 3rd for €70 and Niall Higgins 2nd for €110.. It was KArl Larkin though that prevailed wheb he called Niall's allin with Q8.. Niall held J5 and the board of 84932 gave Karl the win with 2nd pair.. The top 3 players were also our biggest movers in the league with Niall O'Connor going up 8 places from 23rd to 15th, Niall Higgins moving 9 places from 22nd to 13th, and Karl Larkin moving an incredible 18 places from 34th to 16th! There was also a change at the top as Larry Deveraux took advantage of a bad night for Reimo Reinpalu by going 3 points clear at the top.. LArry had been top between weeks 4 and 7 but Reimo has dominated the top spot for the last 6 weeks but LArry has now clawed it back.. An interesting tussle at the top will continue!
