Small Report from Last night in Newtown, 15/16 runners. Winner was Geraldine Nolan, Runner up, Clifton Conyard, 3rd Dave, 4th Dominic Leech.
There was some big hands on the final table, Ritche from Roundwood, riased and was called by Dave. The flop was Queen high and Ritchie pushed with Kings only forDave to snap him off with a set of Queens. Geraldine Nolan raised and was called by Beaudine Brown, Dominic Leech in the Big Blind, reraised and both Geradline and Beaudine flat called. There was a Jack High flop. Dominic bets out, Geraldine folds and Beaudine pushes all in. Dominic tnks for a while before calling and shows Aces and is way ahead of Beaudines Kings. (Had Geraldine stayed in the hand she would have hit a straight as she held 6's).
Earlier on the final table Mark Taylor, pushed for 14k while the blinds were 500/1000 with Ace, 5 off and was called by Clifton and his Ace Queen to knock Mark out. (Dominic Leech made a crying fold here, with his favourite hand, 6,4 and would have made a straight flush)!!
Finally when they got to the bubble Robert "Bellagio Bob" Nolan, pushed utg for 20K with 7'7, it was folded around to Clifton in the Small blind who snaps with Aces, to bubble robert and give him a good chip lead going in 4 handed.
Geraldine nolan knocked Domicn Leech out in 4th for €50. Dominic pushed 7-8 big blinds into Geraldine and she called with King, Jack for it to hold.
Next hand Dave flat calls tHE 3k blind utg and Geraldine Nolan folds. Clifton raised another 10k on top with Queens and Dave calls. The flop comes Queen high, but 3 diamonds. Clifton bets out 17k 17k and Dave pushes all in. Clifton thinks for a while as he is afraid of the flush and calls with his set. Dave throws over Queen 10 off, with no diamonds and Dave goes out in 3rd for €80.
So Clifton & Geraldine went heads up, with clif having a 3-1 chip lead. Soon enough they were all in, Clifton held King, 10 and Geraldine Ace, 2. Geraldines Ace, 2 held and it was all even. Next hand Clif maybe on tilt a bit held Queen 3 of Diamonds only for Geraldine to have Queens so it left Clif crippled. He did battle back a bot and after 20 mins Geraldine finally won.
Clifton & Geraldine
1st Geraldine Nolan €230
2nd Clifton Conyard €150
3rd Dave €80
4 Dominic Leech €50
on a final note, one hand on the final table between Jason O'Brien and Robert Nolan, both players ended up all in with Ace Queen Diamonds against Ace Queen Hearts. Jason will curse his luck as Robert Rivered a heart to give him the flush!!!

Whistlers Wednesday Night
The game here on a Wednesday Night is being run by Conor Hogan (he is also running the big poker fundraiser next friday for the county team). Conor for a young man seems to have a good head on his shoulders and runs a good game. He has dealt at some of the bigger tournaments as well and can also play a bit, so he knows his stuff.
Last night I ventured down as I needed to speak to Conor about something. There was 11/12 runners, up from last week. The game has the potential to grow in numbers and the overall play was fine. The structure is good with the blinds going up every 15 minutes. The game is currently on a league basis and I think there is 3 weeks left of the current league. New players are still welcome to go down and play.
I did make the final table and pushed with Ace/Jack off and was called by Glen Ryan's 9s and sure enough hit his set on the flop. Thanks to the dealer for rubbing it in and giving me the jack on the river. Glen seemed to run pretty well on the final table and won literally all his flips and caught whatever card(s) he was looking for.
Niall Callery had a big chip lead coming onto the final table and ended up winning but doing a deal with the prize money.
Niall Callery €165
Glen Ryan €125
Jim Connors €125
Ciaran Connolly busted I believe on the bubble with JJ versus Nialls KK. Niall hit his set on the river. Ciaran beat himself up pretty bad about this but 4 handed would have been a monster lay down.
A cash game got going afterwards and I have been told some nights up to nearly €2000 has been on the table. This doesnt mean people just arrive for the cash, if you want to play the cash table I believe you should play the tournament also. Its a pub game, not a casino (this is just my opinion).
Anyway a good game, good structure, run by the right people so maybe if your around on a wednesday night drop in a see for yourself.

Thanks to Ritchie who has started to give me reports and pictures from here as well.
Star Poker Bray, have the €30 (20 plus 5 reg & 5 scalp) scalp tournament tonight. Kicking off at 8.00pm, you can late register up to the end of the break at 9.30pm. The Olde Forge Tuesday Night Report
Wicklow Report
20 Runners
Week 2 of the league took place tonight and there were a few sick hands to take place.. Early in the tournament there was a raise and a 3-bet before Cliff Conyard looked at AA and 4-bet.. Joe Byrne 5-bet jammed and Cliff beat him into the pot only for Joe to show AA too!! Cliff almost got lucky holding the Ace of diamonds when there was 3 diamonds out with the river to come but the river blanked and they split the pot. the final table started with an early elimination when Trevor Conyard shoved with AJ, Jan-Willem Geerts reshoved with 77 from the sb only to run into Jason O'Briens AA on the bb.. The Aces held and eliminated Trevor and crippled Jan.. Jason soon gave away the majority of those chips to Niall O'Connor who had a higher straight a few hands later.. A double elimination soon followed when Craig Hennessy shoved with A7, Cliff reshoved with Qs10s and Jan picked up KK in the bb.. The board ran out 9 6s 3s 9s 2 for Cliff to eliminate 2 players with the flush.. Beaudine Browne was out on the bubble when she shoved with A9 and was called by Scott Quinn who held K6s.. A king flopped and Beaudine was our bubble girl.. Cliff's luck was short lived as he finished 4th after his flopped straight was rivered by a flush.. He received €30 and 10 extra for his 2 scalps.. Scott Quinn was 3rd when he ran his A9 into Niall O'Connors AK.. Niall brought a monster chip lead into heads up play against Joe Byrne and the sickest hand of the night occured in the very first hand of heads up play..Joe shoved his tiny stack with Jc 10c and was called by Niall who held Jh 2h.. The flop was J68 with two clubs to give Joe a monster flop.. A 2 of spades on the turn however left Joe needing a 10 or a club on the river (other than the 2 of clubs) Sure enough the 2 of clubs rivered giving Niall's full house the beatings of Joe's flush

The Old Ship Arklow Monday Night
Arklow Report
16 runners
Plenty to play for in terms of the league table tonight as 2nd placed Reimo and 3rd placed Liam Power were both missing, that gave Larry Deveraux the chance to extend his lead at the top and his consistency continued with a 2nd place finish.. As this was a scalp tournament, action was fast and crazy and Niall Higgins was out in the 2nd level.. At 5 handed a deal was made for 30 back for 5th and that opened players ranges and the action came thick and fast.. Larry Deveraux was lucky when he got it in with Paul Hempenstall with 99 v KK but sure enough a 9 flopped to give him the suckout. Paul wasn't so unlucky a few hands later when his 88 eliminated newcomer Pat Dickson's A5 in 4th place for €40 aswell as 3 scalps. Adrian Murray had been knocked out a couple of hands earlier for 5th place and €30 along with 1 scalp.. James Doyle was our 3rd place finisher when he shoved 9 10d Ad 6 4d with 78 for a straight into Larry who was holding Kd 7d for the nut flush.. James received €70 for his 3rd place along with 3 scalps and the remaining 2 players split for €130 each with Paul's larger chipstack giving him the extra points.. Larry recieved an extra €25 for his 5 scalps and Paul an extra €20 for his 4.. Paul was our big mover this week with his win moving him back into the top 9 in 7th place from 12th

StarPoker Sunday Night Results
Congratulations to Ciara Petticrew who beat a field of 41 players to win this last Sunday's €20 Freezeout. Top 5 were paid with first place taking €246. Ciara pushed all-in with K/J off and was called by A/J off! She turned a pair of kings to win the hand and claim tonight's top prize. Well done Ciara [:)] There was no winner of this Sunday's poker jackpot so the money will roll over to next week...
Wednesday Night Poker
Kicking us off is Star Poker Bray and their €20 (15 plus 5 reg)Freezeout tournament. Kicking off at 8.00pm, you can late reg up to the end of the break at 9.30pm. Blinds are 15 minutes and you have a 10k starting stack. Refreshments available throughout and sambos served at the break (30 minute break from 9-9.30pm). Probably the busiest night in Star Poker is the Wednesday game and usually always hits 60 runners sometimes a lot more. Last week I believe they had 74 runners.
Cash Games Available around 10 o'clock and the tables fill up very quickly. blinds 25/50c, rake is 3% once a flop is seen and capped at €3.
There is another game in Sally O'Briens in Arklow. I have been told its a €50 freezeout, with a 15k starting stack and early bird chip of 1k if your there before 8. Its been run by DR Poker.
Finally a new game to report. Whistlers Bar in Wicklow Town, have a €20, plus 2 €10 top ups tournament. Starting stack could be 5k, to be confirmed. Blinds are 15 Mins, and usually gets 10 plus players. This game used to be run by Ian McDonald of Donkey Poker Tour, but Ian has moved to pastures new and 2 Guys have taken up the reins. When there is enough players a cash game usually gets going here and can be very wild. Last week there was some very interesting and very big pots won, so beware.
Good luck at the tables.

Star Poker Saturday Night Report
Congratulaions to David Deak who beat a field of 28 players to win this Saturday's €25 Re-entry tournament. Top 4 were paid with first place taking €252. David had a big chip lead heads up and called an all-in with A/3 offsuit. He flopped an ace and turned a 3, and his 2 pair held up against a flush draw when the river blanked. Well done David. There was no winner of this Saturday's jackpot so the money will roll over to next week...

Cash Tables available when enough players are around to start. blinds are 25/50c, 10% rake once a flop is seen and capped at €3 per pot. I think the minimum you can buy onto cash for is €25 and the Maximum is €200.
