Newtown Friday Night Results
14 players took part in the Friday night game in MKI. With quite a few regulars away, it was nice to see 2 new players at the game, namely Joe Grennan and Luke O 'Shea. Beginners luck struck for Joe when he chopped top prize with John Dalton each receiving €190. In third place was Jason O'Brien on €90, and 4th was Geraldine Nolan on €50. There was a lot of excitement surrounding the best hand of the night. Lee Lofts went all in with pocket 3's and Jason O'Brien called with A5 clubs. Lee hit a set on the flop, quads on the turn, while Jason had a straight flush draw with the 2 and 3 of clubs on the board. His only out was the 4 of clubs which duly arrived on the river...a great card for Jason, but a killer for Lee, so Jason gets a free buy in next week. Hard luck Lee.
Rathnew Friday Night Results
Congratulations to Peter Porter who took down last nights game in Rathnew. With 17 runners top prize paid €400, Dara Ronan was 2nd for €200, John Clarke 3rd for €120 & Eamonn Franey 4th for €80. Best and of the night was quad 4s for Damien O'Connor who called a raise with 4,2 out of position to flop a full house and turned quads.
Peter advised me things tightened up after the break and a big pot between himself & Niall O'Connor set him up nicely when he called Niall's all in and won holding Queens against Niall's Ace King.

Tuesday Night Poker
2 games tonight folks and 1st up its week 8 of the new Tuesday Night Old Forge Poker League.
This new league will run for 20/30 weeks with €40 being taken out of the pot each week, which will give €800/1200 to the pot.
JP McCann has his Mini WSOP in tallaght, usually around November and the main event is usually a €400 buy in. With the league for 30 weeks the top 3 players will be sent.
Tonight the buy in is €40 (35 plus 5 reg),freezeout, €15k starting stack, with a 1k early bird and 1k bonus chip for texting your entry to 0868446556. The last time the league ran a final table was played for the top 10 with 4 Fitz EOM tickets being awarded, but this time there is a new structure to the league, where there wont be a playoff, just an outright winner, therefore the best players over the course of the league will win the tickets.
