Poker Awards
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNERS!!
Well done to Star Poker Bray on Winning not only Best Venue but also Best Tournament with their deepstack game.
I think this is well deserved as Marcin and the gang run a great show in bray.
Pictured is David Harris & Marcin with their awards.
Next up was Best Tournament Player and Congratulations to Craig Ledwith from Arklow who won this award. Craig seems to be a deepstack specialist and won the most recent one in Bray on the back of a big win in Dublin. Well Done Craig.
Pictured is Craig receiving his award in the Grand Hotel Wicklow.
Next up was Best Cash Game Player and the award went to Mick Dunne from Wicklow Town. Mick seems to prefer the cash to tournaments (even though he is handy at the tournaments!!). Well done Mick.
And the final award, NO COMMENT!!
Thanks to all who voted and congratulations to all the winners. Lets make this an annual thing and good luck at the tables for the forthcoming year.

Sunday Poker Part 1
€75 Entry (€60 plus €15)
Fully Dealer Dealt, Food on the break and some Poker gear will be handed out as well for best hands etc as there wont be enough to go around. (Thanks to Irish Eyes and Boyle Poker for this).
Starting stack 20k. Blinds 25 mins before the break (2 hours play) and 30 minutes when you return (30 min break).
There is an option of a dealer tip of €5 for an extra 5k in chips. This is purely optional. Not all players will take it and puts them at a disadvantage straight away as they would be 5k down in chips.
I have included Antes in the structure to entice some action, especially with the blinds being so long. I dont think we will hit blinds of 50000/100000 but I have included them for all to see.
Christmas Jumpers and Christmas Hats are a must!!
The poker awards will also be handed out on the break if the players etc are in attendance.
There is a full bar (not free of course), and a full menu available if you cant wait until the break
There more than likely will be a cash game afterwards and last night I was asked to run a NLH game and an Omaha Game. If anyone is interested please can you let me know.
If its a thing where 2 cash games get going, one table will be 50c/€1 and the 2nd table will be €1/€2.
Star Poker Friday Night Results
Congratulations to Kelly Wakefield, Glenn Murphy and Andrew Byrne who all split the Friday €25 Re-Entry Tournament last night. With 36 players top spot paid €288 and the top 5 got paid. Well done!!

Poker Awards
LAST FEW DAYS TO GET YOUR VOTES IN
The winners will be announced on the 23rd December 2012 at the Deepstack Event in the Grand Hotel Wicklow. There will be 5 awards, nothing serious just something small(piece of glass/trophy) and the categories are as follows:
1. Best Poker Venue
Nominees: Star Poker Bray, Kennedy Inn Newtown, Doyles Rathnew, Old Forge Wicklow, Whistlers Wicklow, Jacobs Well Rathdrum, Lynskeys Arklow, Old Ship Arklow.
2. Best Game
Nominees: All as above
3. Best Tournament Player
Nominees: Open Category
4. Best Cash Game Player
Nominees: Open Category
5. Biggest Nit/Luckbox Award
Nominees: Open Category
Nominations can be emailed to wicklowpkrscene@gmail.com with a nomination for each category if you like. I would prefer if you didnt comment as people can see who and what you are voting for. One vote per person per category rules apply. if this is going to be done lets do it right, thats why I have left the last category as a bit of a joke. It is a bit of fun but seeing as nothing like this has happened around Wicklow before, for the first 4 awards im asking for them to be taken serious please.
Anyone who has voted so far, thank you for doing so. For anyone that is not big into the internet I will be sending out nomination forms (bringing them to different games)so to get your vote.
FINALLY, I CAN ONLY GIVE AWARDS TO THE VENUE, PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN VOTED FOR!! IF YOU THINK THERE IS A BETTER PLAYER THAN THOSE WHO GET THE AWARD ITS BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN VOTED FOR. IM NOT PICKING THE WINNERS, THE VOTES ARE, WITHOUT THEM I COULDNT HAVE DONE THIS.
Ill post the same post every week up to the event, so happy voting. Entries were going to close on the 17th December but Im going to close them next week on the 21st Instead.
Cheers.

Finally I would like to know what kind of numbers that will be showing up, if you can tweet me, comment on the blog/facebook, text me 0868446556, or email me wicklowpkrscene@gmail.com, just so I have an indication of numbers.
I WOULD IDEALLY LIKE IF PEOPLE WOULD PREBOOK/PRE-REGISTER BY TEXT ON THE ABOVE NUMBER SO TO KNOW WHAT NUMBERS IM EXPECTING
Christmas Jumpers and Christmas Hats are a must!!
The poker awards will also be handed out on the break if the players etc are in attendance.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any queries.
Also There more than likely will be a cash game afterwards and last night I was asked to run a NLH game and an Omaha Game. If anyone is interested please can you let me know.
If its a thing where 2 cash games get going, one table will be 50c/€1 and the 2nd table will be €1/€2.
Thanks Everyone.

Monday Night Poker
One game to report tonight, and it happens in the Olde Ship, Arklow.
Its run by Trevor Conyard from WicklowPKRscene/Chip & Chair Poker events.
Tonights Game is the last for 2 weeks, due to the christmas break. also tonight its double points
Buyin: €35 Freezeout scalp Christmas Cracker tournament (€25+5+5)
9k starting stack
1k early bird
500 extra chips for confirming by text (0868446556)
Best hand before the break, will win more chips.
Bobby McGee took down last weeks game and will be going for 2 in a row and 40 points Tonight.
Cash game runs also, 50c - €1 NLH with 10% rake once a flop is seen and capped at €5, min buyin to cash game is €25
Tournament players are also part of a league for 2 UKIPT Cork tickets worth €770 each that takes place in February 2013. Top 9 players at the end of the league qualify for the final table and top 2 of final table win a ticket each. Players chipstacks are calculated based on the amount of points they accumulate throughout the league and there are already over 50 players on the league table. €40 is taken from the pot each week to make the money for the 2 tickets.
With over 50 players in the league, the action at the top is heating up. Larry, Reimo and Darek are nearly guaranteed a final spot already, as they have a monster lead, but the final 7 places are anybodys as its quite close!
This is a good game and usually always gets 2 full tables. As in 1 of my previous posts, I have taken over Chip & a Chair and will continue running the game the same way Craig did. Hope to see you all later.
Good Luck at the tables.

Friday Night Poker
Action for tonight is as follows:
Doyles Rathnew, starts at 8.00pm. Seems to be getting 2 tables consistently now. €20 buy in and a starting stack of 2.5k and a 20 min clock. You can rebuy/topup 3 times and if your gone before the break you can buy a deadstack and the 3 topups for €50. All money taken in on the night goes back out in the prizefund. This is the 11th/12th week of the Christmas roll over with €200 off the prizepool being held back. Play 7 out of the 12 weeks to qualify for the final night and your chance to win €1000 (i think the winner alone will win €1000 as there could be over €3500 in the kitty!), right before christmas.
The Kennedy inn, Newtown. Starts at 8.00pm, buy in is €20, with a €20 top up. early bird chip of 1k if your there before 8. Starting stack of 10k and a 20 min clock. The topup/rebuy is also for 10k. Usually gets 2 tables and the standard of play is very high, and its a good game.
Star Poker Bray, have their €25 (20 plus 5 reg) double chance tournie. Bust or be knocked out before the end of the first break at 9.30pm and you can rebuy for a further €25. Starts at 8.00pm and you can late reg up to 9.30pm. Starting stack of 10k, 15 min blinds and usually 30 plus runners. Refreshments available throughout and hot food served at the break. Dont forget to buy in for the jackpot. Read my post regarding the jackpot as its coming to an end soon.
Cash tables run until late and usually have 2 going. 25/50c blinds. 10% rake once a flop is seen, capped at €3 per pot, again the 2 cash tables usually fill up fairly fast.
Also a game in Lynskeys of Arklow. Starting at 9pm, 10k stack, no reg 30 freezeout. No idea on structure/blinds. Usually gets 1 table at least, and a cash game going later on.
Have a good weekend and good luck at the tables.
