JUST ANOTHER REMINDER STAR POKER BRAY IS CLOSED TOMORROW NIGHT FOR THE IRELAND V CROATIA MATCH IN THE EUROPEAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS.

SO NO POKER HERE TOMORROW NIGHT!!

Saturday Night

All Quite on the Poker fron around the county tonight bar the one usual Tournament. I find it hard to believe there is only the 2 tournaments on the weekend around the county, im not sure if this is because people like to go out, socialise etc, I honestly dont know!!

Anyway, Star Poker Bray, is the only place I am aware of anything tonight. Kicks off at 8.00pm and you can late reg up to 9.30pm, its the €25 (20 plus 5 reg) rebuy tournament. Bust before the end of the break at 9.30 and you can rebuy for €25. Starting stack of 10k, and a 15 min clock. Refreshments available throughout and hot food served at the break. Usually get 30 runners or just under.

Cash tables available later (usually after 10) with 25/50c blinds. The rake is 10% once a flop is seen and capped at €3.

Best of luck.

Friday Night

Okay, so as I posted yesterday, there is no poker tonight in Newtown, instead the players have opted to play in Eire Og, Greystones GAA Club Fundraiser in their clubhouse. Registration from 7.00pm, the tournament kicks off at 7.30pm sharp. Buy in is €25 (20 plus 5 reg), and you can buy back for €10. (As per all fundraisers the buy backs are probably unlimited up to the first break). I have no ideas on blinds/stacks or even what kind of numbers they are expecting. Greystones is a big place and with the numbers from Newtown going down id say they would be expecting at least 40/50 plus.

There is also a Friendly pub game on in Jack Whites (I believe more for the locals than anything else). €10 buy in, so you can see how friendly it is), no ideas on numbers/blinds/stacks.

Doyles, Rathnew Starts at 8/8.30pm, buy in is €20 with 3 top ups of €10 each. If you have used your rebuys and somehow lost your stack before the break, there is an option to but a deadstack and the 3 top-ups for €50 (have plenty of money just in case). Starting stack is 2.5k and for your rebuys you get 4k. There are 20 minute blinds. There is usually a cash game after the tournament or when there is enough players to start one and can run into the early hours.

Finally, Star Poker Bray, have their €25 re-entry tournament.Starts at 8.00pm, Bust before the end of the first break (9.30pm)and you can rebuy for €25 (20 plus 5 reg). Starting stack of 10k, and 15 min blinds. Refreshment available throughout and free food on the break. Usually get 30 plus players, and cash tables usually get going around 10, blinds 25/50c with 10% rake after a flop is seen with a max of €3 rake from the pot.

Have a good night wherever you go!

CHANGE IN GAME

Just to let people know, the Friday game that takes place in The Kennedy Inn, Newtown wont be going ahead, as there is a Fundraiser In Eire Og, Greystones and they have decided to play this for the one night only. Details as per the flyer below:

I have been informed of this by Robert Nolan!!

REMINDER

Just a reminder that STAR POKER BRAY, will NOT BE OPEN this SUNDAY NIGHT, Due to the Ireland Croatia match taking place in the European Championships and will reopen on Wednesday for the €20 Freezeout.

The Poker Room will Close again on Thursday the 14th June for the Ireland spain Match and reopen on the Friday.

COME ON YOU BOYS IN GREEN!!

Thursday Night

The sun has gone and the heavens have opened up so its a perfect night for a game of poker.

First up is The Coach House, Roundwood. Starts at 8.00pm, Buy in is €35, which includes your top up! starting stack is 5k I believe and the topup/rebuy is the same. If you dont take the rebuy/yopup option I believe its still €25. Blinds are 15/20 mins(it depends!!), I think there was 21/22 last week, not bad for a pub game. Everything that goes into the pot bar the €5 reg comes back out in prize money. This is a good game, some good players, some not so good and its good craic as well.

Star Poker Bray, have their Scalp tournament tonight. €30 (20 plus 5 reg and 5 scalp). Blinds are 15 mins, with antes usually kicking in after the break. Starting stack of 10k. Knock any player out and get their scalp (€5). Refreshments available throughout and hot food available on the break. Last night had 66 runners and I believe there could be 40 plus here tonight. Kicks off at 8.00pm and you can late reg up to 9.30pm.

There was also a game to start tonight in Whistlers Pub, Wicklow Town, but I have not heard if its going ahead or not. I have tried calling and emailing the organiser but cant seem to get him. If I hear anymore ill let you know.

Best of Luck wherever you decide to play.

Wednesday Night in Bray

Last night in Bray had 66 Runners. I did go up myself but the less said the better!! I did notice a few new faces with a few regulars also missing. The numbers Star are getting on a Wednesday is brilliant, and as 1 of the players put it to me last night "its a cheap tournament, you cant go wrong for €20 and plus I cant go every night or I would be divorced!!"

Anyway:

Congratulations to Ciaran McGrath who beat a field of 66 players to win €366 in last night Wednesday's €20 Freeze-Out Tournament (top six were paid). He pushed all-in with QJ and hit a queen high flop which held until the river. Ciaran also qualified for our wednesday poker Jackpot and has a great chance to win €150 next week!

No Pictures from last night unfortunately.

Wednesday Night

I have been informed of a tournament that seems to be played every week in Sally O'Briens Pub on the Main Street in Arklow. Buy in I have been told is €50. I have to contact the organiser to find out about runners/blinds/stacks/starting time and will post to the site once I have to hand.

I have never posted about this tournament before and its the 3rd new tournament this week I have been told of, so from Monday to Sunday, Poker is available every night!!

Star Poker, Bray are running their infamous €20 (15 plus 5 reg) freezeout tonight. Last week had 82 runners. I have played there on a Wednesday night now a few times and there has always been more than 50. Kicks off at 8.00pm and you can register up to the end of the break at 9.30pm, starting stack of 10k, and a 15 minute clock. Refreshments available throughout and sandwiches served at the break. This is a good game, and one that wont break the bank.

Cash table usually available around 10 o clock. blinds are 25c/50c. Rake is 10% (only once a flop is seen) or capped at €3. Usually get around 2/3 cash tables.

Best of Luck if you go either place.

Monday Night Poker

I have been informed that The Olde Ship In Arklow, hold a game every Monday Night. Its a €30 Freezeout. I have no info on blinds/stack/structure/runners but will have for next week.

I have also been told cash game available when enough players are out.

Like I have said further information to follow, thanks.

Sail Fest Fundraiser Sunday Night

I ventured to the Fundraiser in the Grand Hotel last night. 27 Runners, with the top 5 being played. I was running okay, as I won 2 big pots, the latter with aces where I knocked Alan out and took his 40k plus in chips to give me the lead with 17 remaining. This was my stack when I had chips!!

However I went card dead and when I finally woke up with Jacks, John Leon unfortunately had kings, which put me into emergency mode.

I made the final 9, and pushed on my first hand for my remaining 18k with queen/Jack off and was called by Queen 6 off, for him to hit runner runner straight, Disappointing finish as I had played well, and didnt make to many mistakes/stupid calls.

I didnt really know what to think of my table as some of the bets, calls preflop etc were weird to say the least. I was kind of stuck on a table with a few people who

a) like to see a flop (no matter what the raise or what they hold)
b) Non believers (you have it on every street and they hit their one outer on the river)

I did question it a few times with some of the players, but thats poker any 2 cards, which at the best of times can be very frustrating, as the same players (even with crap) seem to hit all the time.

I left when it was 6 handed, with John Leon, Niall Carberry, Dominic Leech, and 3 others Im not sure of their names.

Anyway, not as big a turnout as the last tournament held, but not bad for a bnak holiday sunday night. Well done to all who organised/helped.

Friday Night in Newtown

Small report from Newtown Friday Night, Approx 17-18 runners. Three way deal/chop was made between Craig Quinn, Clifton Conyard and Mark Taylor, each took €180 each at the end of the night, well done lads.

A few Pictures from the Night:

Where has the rain come from?

Well bank holiday Sunday is finally here and we have 2 tournaments today:

End of Month, Star Poker Bray: Starts at 2.30pm, late reg is up to 4.30pm. Buy in is €75 (65 plus 10 reg), starting stack of 20k, 25 min blinds up to the break and 30 min after. refreshments available throughout and food served at the break. This usually gets big numbers and with the rain I would expect more.
