I did comment yesterday that the game in Lynskeys Arklow on a friday was no more, but it has been set back up again. Results from last night as follows:

The Lynskeys game last night: 9 runners, 2 rebuys. nice setup,ok game when Danny eventually got there lol! Bit mental at the start. 1st: Niall O'Connor €180, 2nd: Adrian €90, 3rd Mick €60. Heads up 2 key hands: Nialls A5 v 3h4h all in pre, flop 342 :) then Niall's A8 v Kj held.

THANKS

The blog has surpassed 10,000 view in just over 6 months of being live so Just a quick post to say thanks to anyone who has contributed to the blog over the last 6 months. From people commenting, to the guys that continuosly keep me updated with their games, with pictures reports etc (Marcin from Star, Clif from Newtown, Peter from Rathnew and Conor from Whistlers).

It only adds to the blog and my aim was to keep people informed of what is happening in the poker community around wicklow and to date (hopefully) Ive been doing this.

Thanks Again!
Trevor.

Friday Night Poker

Action for tonight is as follows:

Doyles Rathnew, starts at 8.00pm. Seems to be getting 2 tables consistently now. €20 buy in and a starting stack of 2.5k and a 20 min clock. You can rebuy/topup 3 times and if your gone before the break you can buy a deadstack and the 3 topups for €50. All money taken in on the night goes back out in the prizefund. Peter Porter has been keeping me informed of winners and pictures when he goes here. This is the 6th/7th week of the Christmas roll over with €200 off the prizepool being held back. Play 7 out of the 12 weeks to qualify for the final night and your chance to win €1000 (i think the winner alone will win €1000!), right before christmas.

The Kennedy inn, Newtown. Starts at 8.00pm, buy in is €20, with a €20 top up. early bird chip of 1k if your there before 8. Starting stack of 10k and a 20 min clock. The topup/rebuy is also for 10k. Usually gets 2 tables and the standard of play is very high, and its a good game.

Star Poker Bray, have their €25 (20 plus 5 reg) double chance tournie. Bust or be knocked out before the end of the first break at 9.30pm and you can rebuy for a further €25. Starts at 8.00pm and you can late reg up to 9.30pm. Starting stack of 10k, 15 min blinds and usually 30 plus runners. Refreshments available throughout and hot food served at the break. Think the number hit 30/40 here tonight.

Cash tables run until late and usually have 2 going. 25/50c blinds. 10% rake once a flop is seen, capped at €3 per pot, again the 2 cash tables usually fill up fairly fast.

Also a game in Lynskeys of Arklow. this game is no more as far as i know, they were not getting the numbers and no texts have gone out in a while.

Have a good weekend and good luck at the tables.

Star Poker Bray Wednesday Night Results

Congratulations to Callum Jacobs and Karl Verhoeven who split Wednesday's $20 Freeze-out tournament. With 59 players top spot paid $354 and the top 6 got paid. No Jackpot winner so $1000 is up for grabs next Wednesday.

Updated league available tonight also.

Cash Game available afterwards,50c/€1 blinds, rake 10% once a flop is seen capped at €10 per pot.

Finally, the Tuesday game in Jacobs Well, Rathdrum.

Each week they alternate between 2 games. 1 game is a €50 freezeout. starting stack is 62k (you are reading this correctly), blinds are 15/20 mins. no money kept behind all is paid out in prizefunds. starts at 8.30 and can run for a while with a stack this big!!

Their 2nd game is €30, with a €10 rebuy only for the first 3 levels. starting stack is not as big, i believe its around the 20k mark, and blinds are as above 15/20 mins.

Pot Limit cash game also runs when enough players are knocked out of the game.

Good luck at the table Folks.

The Old Ship Arklow Monday Night Results

Congratulations to Trevor Conyard who took down last weeks game in the Old Ship Arklow. Trevor called Bobby McGee and Justas all in with Jack 9 Diamonds and was up against Ace 7 & Jack Queen. Trevor rivered a 9 to take top prize of €210. There was 18 runners and best hand before the break and overall was Quad Kings for Bobby McGee, which not only gave him an extra 5k in chips but also free entry to next weeks tournament.

A cash game got going after the final table with 8 players, which was good to see as there hasnt been one in a while. Maybe with the winter coming in and the darker nights the game will get busier.

There was also some action on the side with Craig Ledwith and Karl Larkin betting €20 on whoever last longest. There was only ever going to be 1 winner here and Craig duly took Karl's €20 with a big smile. (He didnt needle Karl to much about it)

Here is the Picture: (Loving Karls new look)

Thanks to all who came and hope to see you all next week.

Update Christmas Deepstack

Okay folks, an update on the Christmas game as follows:

Im trying to give the player the option here so they are going to enjoy the game, rather than give out about it! thats not what I want, hence the option!

Options are as follows:

1. 20K Starting stack buy in €70 (60 prizepool 10 reg), NO Dealers (self deal), capped at 50 players. 20 min blinds before the break of 6 levels and 25 mins after. Food will be served on the break, which will be 30 mins. Date is either the 22/23rd December and will be in the Grand Hotel, Wicklow.

2. 15k starting stack, buy in €75 (60 prizepool, 15 reg) dealer dealt, capped at 60 players, 25 min blinds before the break of 6 levels and 30 mins thereafter. Again food will be served on the break, which will be 30 mins, dates and venue as above.

I will not be playing myself and will be the tournament director, and any decision that is made will be final.

There will be no antes, after sufficient levels the clock will be paused and the smaller denominations removed and players chipped up. Play will commence mid afternoon, and there will be 2 breaks, one after 6 levels, the other after another 6, then we will play out to the winner.

There is no Guarantee on the prizepool as there is no overlay. I have had a good response and between all the local venues Im sure we could get 50 players easily enough. Nothing will be deducted from the Prizepool, any costs come out of the reg (Food, venue, dealers). Providing the venue is full the Prizepool will be over €3k (again this is only Guaranteed providing the game is full)

There was an option of running a larger buy in of €100 plus €20 reg, and to advertise on IPB and get more numbers. there are 2 reasons why (for now)im not doing this, and the 1st is because its right before Christmas and I think €120 is a bit much, even though €70/€75 is not cheap, I believe more people will go for this game, and secondly, Wicklow never really gets a big game apart from the local pub games etc, and this is the main reason for running this.

So the question that I am asking is:

a) which date would you prefer, Saturday the 22nd December or Sunday the 23rd December?
b) Self deal or Dealers?

I had a good response to my previous post on this both by emails, comments on the blog and text. So please feel free to comment and let me know what you would like here.

thanks.

Monday Night Poker

One game to report tonight, and it happens in the Olde Ship, Arklow.
Its run by Trevor Conyard from WicklowPKRscene/Chip & Chair Poker events.

Buyin: €30 Freezeout (€25+5 reg)

9k starting stack

1k early bird

500 extra chips for confirming by text (0868446556)

20 min clock for first 6 levels, 15 min for the remaining levels (inc antes, that increase with every 2 levels)

Best hand before the break, will win more chips. I have the ranking of hands and what chips you will win if your hand is best and will show at the game later.
Also best hand overall tonight gets free entry next week.

Cash game runs also, 50c - €1 NLH with 10% rake once a flop is seen and capped at €5, min buyin to cash game is €25

Tournament players are also part of a league for 2 UKIPT Cork tickets worth €770 each that takes place in February 2013. Top 9 players at the end of the league qualify for the final table and top 2 of final table win a ticket each. Players chipstacks are calculated based on the amount of points they accumulate throughout the league and there are already over 50 players on the league table. €40 is taken from the pot each week to make the money for the 2 tickets.

Niall O'Connor was the victor at the last game.

This is a good game and usually always gets 2 full tables. As in 1 of my previous posts, I have taken over Chip & a Chair and will continue running the game the same way Craig did. Hope to see you all later.

Good Luck at the tables.

Star Leisure Saturday Night Results

Congratulations to Lorenzo Fusciardi and Brian Drennen who chopped Saturdays €25 re-entry tournament. They beat a field of 29 runners and chopped the prize pool for €202 each.
