Friday Night Poker

Action for tonight is as follows:

Doyles Rathnew, starts at 8.00pm. Seems to be getting 2 tables consistently now. €20 buy in and a starting stack of 2.5k and a 20 min clock. You can rebuy/topup 3 times and if your gone before the break you can buy a deadstack and the 3 topups for €50. All money taken in on the night goes back out in the prizefund. Peter Porter has been keeping me informed of winners and pictures when he goes here. This is the 6th/7th week of the Christmas roll over with €200 off the prizepool being held back. Play 7 out of the 12 weeks to qualify for the final night and your chance to win €1000 (i think the winner alone will win the €1000!), right before christmas.

The Kennedy inn, Newtown. Starts at 8.00pm, buy in is €20, with a €20 top up. early bird chip of 1k if your there before 8. Starting stack of 10k and a 20 min clock. The topup/rebuy is also for 10k. Usually gets 2 tables and the standard of play is very high, early bird chip of 1k if your there before 8.

Star Poker Bray, have their €25 (20 plus 5 reg) double chance tournie. Bust or be knocked out before the end of the first break at 9.30pm and you can rebuy for a further €25. Starts at 8.00pm and you can late reg up to 9.30pm. Starting stack of 10k, 15 min blinds and usually 30 plus runners. Refreshments available throughout and hot food served at the break. Think the number hit 30/40 here tonight.

Cash tables run until late and usually have 2 going. 25/50c blinds. 10% rake once a flop is seen, capped at €3 per pot, again the 2 cash tables usually fill up fairly fast.

Also a game in Lynskeys of Arklow. this game is no more as far as i know, they were not getting the numbers and no texts have gone out in a while.

Have a good weekend and good luck at the tables.

Christmas Deepstack Tournament

Im throwing this out there, as Im looking at running a 50 max 20/25k deepstack tournament on either the 22nd/23rd December 2012 in Wicklow. Fully dealer dealt, food served at the break, €75 euro entry (€55 plus €20 reg), which will gaurantee a prize pool of €3000. (This would mean I would try pay the whole final table, but i want to try and guarantee a top prize of €1500 for the winner).
Blinds would be 20/25 mins up to the break and 30 after the break.

Before im asked, the reg is €20 as dealers will need to be brought in, food paid for, room hire and some gear to!

I can only Guarantee a prize pool of €3k once I have the players, so providing I have 50 entrants this will be a good tournament. It will be a midday/afternoon start, and hopefully people wont have work the following day!!!

Cash game will operate here when enough people have been knocked out to.

Again please let me have feedback on this, www.wicklowpkrscene.blogspot.com (feel free to comment, let me know what you think, or have any ideas yourself), contact me on 086-8446556 or Ill speak to people at the leagues that are currently running.

Cheers.

Sunday Night Poker

Star Poker Bray

Kicks off at 8.00pm and you can register up to the end of the break at 9.30pm. Buy in is €20 (15 plus 5 reg). 10k starting stack and a 15 minute clock. Refreshments served throughout and sambos served on the break. This game is getting big numbers lately and could have anything up to 50 players.

Cash Tables available when enough players are around to start. blinds are 25/50c, 10% rake once a flop is seen and capped at €3 per pot. I think the minimum you can buy onto cash for is €25 and the Maximum is €200.

Expecting big numbers for this, (hopefully) will hit the 60 mark. Tables can be sponsored by contacting any of the numbers on the flyers. I had contacted a few of the major poker sites to see would they forward spot prizes (t-shirts, polos, hoodies etc) so Ive some small bits from Irish Eyes Poker. A lot of the bigger sites didnt want to know, which was a bit disappointing. At the break there will also be a charity wax in aid of the football club, so this will be a good night (Plus there is no work the following day)!

Buy in €20, with unlimited €10 rebuys up to the break. 20 Min levels for 6 levels to the break, starting stack is 4k, rebuys 4k and top up at the break is €10 for 4k or €30 for 15k.

CASH GAME WILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER WHEN ENOUGH PLAYERS HAVE BEEN KNOCKED OUT.

Star Poker Friday Night Result

Congratulatons to Ger Cleary, who defeated a field of 51 runners to win Friday's €25 Re-Entry Tournament. Ger called an all in with A8 and was up against A7. Ger's A8 held up on a J253J board and he secured first place. 6 places were paid with a top prize of €408.

There was no winner of jackpot so the money will roll over to next week!
