Friday Night Poker

Action for tonight is as follows:

Doyles Rathnew, starts at 8.00pm. Seems to be getting 2 tables consistently now. €20 buy in and a starting stack of 2.5k and a 20 min clock. You can rebuy/topup 3 times and if your gone before the break you can buy a deadstack and the 3 topups for €50. All money taken in on the night goes back out in the prizefund. This is the 10th/11th week of the Christmas roll over with €200 off the prizepool being held back. Play 7 out of the 12 weeks to qualify for the final night and your chance to win €1000 (i think the winner alone will win €1000 as there could be over €3500 in the kitty!), right before christmas.

The Kennedy inn, Newtown. Starts at 8.00pm, buy in is €20, with a €20 top up. early bird chip of 1k if your there before 8. Starting stack of 10k and a 20 min clock. The topup/rebuy is also for 10k. Usually gets 2 tables and the standard of play is very high, and its a good game.

Star Poker Bray, have their €25 (20 plus 5 reg) double chance tournie. Bust or be knocked out before the end of the first break at 9.30pm and you can rebuy for a further €25. Starts at 8.00pm and you can late reg up to 9.30pm. Starting stack of 10k, 15 min blinds and usually 30 plus runners. I believe last week there was over 50 runners. Refreshments available throughout and hot food served at the break. Dont forget to buy in for the jackpot. Read my post regarding the jackpot as its coming to an end soon.

Cash tables run until late and usually have 2 going. 25/50c blinds. 10% rake once a flop is seen, capped at €3 per pot, again the 2 cash tables usually fill up fairly fast.

Also a game in Lynskeys of Arklow. Starting at 9pm, 10k stack, no reg 30 freezeout. No idea on structure/blinds. Last week had 1 table. I also believe last week they played cash rather than a tournament.

Have a good weekend and good luck at the tables.

Star Poker Wednesday Night Results

Congratulations to Colm Martin on winning Wednesdays €20 freezeout. He beat a field of 77 runners to claim first prize of €399. On the final hand, with a big chip lead, he called a shove with 44 and was against 95. The flop ran out 33Q82 to give him the win. Colm was also in the jackpot so is in with a shout to win the €1300+ jackpot prize pool.

Whistlers League Final Report

Last night we had the whistlers league final, of the 16 players qualified 14 were able to make it on the night.

With the money added by whistlers and buy ins on the day we had a prizepool of €1160 and we put out a provisional prizepool to pay four but 5 handed the bubble was burst with Johnny Dunne out in 5th for €50.

Next out was Stephen Tierney for €100 and a deal was done 3 handed with Brian Connolley taking slightly more with €350 than Mick Dunne and JIM Connor's €330 but Brian will go down as our champion particularily fitting as he went in as chipleader from the league and played superbly well throughout the tournament so congrats to Brian!

Thanks to everyone who came down during the League and thanks to Whistlers' Liam and Se for being so accommodating throughout.!

Well done to Kyle Byrne who beat Reimo Reinpalu heads up to win last nights game in Arklow. Both players chopped the pot but played on for the points. Trevor Conyard was 3rd with Darek 4th. There was 20 runners last night and best hand before the break was Quad Kings for David Kavanagh. Just to make sure he was getting the 5K extra chips he also had Quad Queens!

Christmas Deepstack Tournament Reminder

€75 Entry (€60 plus €15)

Fully Dealer Dealt, Food on the break and some Poker gear will be handed out as well for best hands etc as there wont be enough to go around. (Thanks to Irish Eyes and Boyle Poker for this).

Starting stack 20k. Blinds 25 mins before the break (2 hours play) and 30 minutes when you return (30 min break).

There is an option of a dealer tip of €5 for an extra 5k in chips. This is optional and I would like to see what players would think of this. Not all players will take it and puts them at a disadvantage straight away as they would be 5k down in chips. Please let me know what you think!!

I have included Antes in the structure to entice some action, especially with the blinds being so long. I dont think we will hit blinds of 50000/100000 but I have included them for all to see.

Finally I would like to know what kind of numbers that will be showing up, if you can tweet me, comment on the blog/facebook, text me 0868446556, or email me wicklowpkrscene@gmail.com, just so I have an indication of numbers.

I WOULD IDEALLY LIKE IF PEOPLE WOULD PREBOOK/PRE-REGISTER BY TEXT ON THE ABOVE NUMBER SO TO KNOW WHAT NUMBERS IM EXPECTING

Christmas Jumpers and Christmas Hats are a must!!

The poker awards will also be handed out on the break if the players etc are in attendance.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any queries.

Also There more than likely will be a cash game afterwards and last night I was asked to run a NLH game and an Omaha Game. If anyone is interested please can you let me know.

If its a thing where 2 cash games get going, one table will be 50c/€1 and the 2nd table will be €1/€2.

Thanks Everyone.

Monday Night Poker

One game to report tonight, and it happens in the Olde Ship, Arklow.
Its run by Trevor Conyard from WicklowPKRscene/Chip & Chair Poker events.

Buyin: €30 Freezeout (€25+5 reg)

9k starting stack

1k early bird

500 extra chips for confirming by text (0868446556)

Best hand before the break, will win more chips.

Larry Devereaux took down last weeks game and will be going for 2 in a row and 40 points to put himself further ahead in the league.

Cash game runs also, 50c - €1 NLH with 10% rake once a flop is seen and capped at €5, min buyin to cash game is €25

Tournament players are also part of a league for 2 UKIPT Cork tickets worth €770 each that takes place in February 2013. Top 9 players at the end of the league qualify for the final table and top 2 of final table win a ticket each. Players chipstacks are calculated based on the amount of points they accumulate throughout the league and there are already over 50 players on the league table. €40 is taken from the pot each week to make the money for the 2 tickets.

With over 50 players in the league, the action at the top is heating up. Larry, Reimo and Darek are nearly guaranteed a final spot already, as they have a monster lead, but the final 7 places are anybodys as its quite close!

This is a good game and usually always gets 2 full tables. As in 1 of my previous posts, I have taken over Chip & a Chair and will continue running the game the same way Craig did. Hope to see you all later.

Good Luck at the tables.

Star Poker Sunday Deepstack Results

Congratulations to Craig Ledwith who won the €75 monthly freezeout. He beat a field of 50 runners and claimed first prize of €1300 out of a prizepool of over €3000. On the final hand he held KJ on a board of 9,T,6. He called a bet and hit the Queen on the turn to give him a straight. All the chips ended up in the middle on the turn and he was against a slow played JJ. The river was a 7 to give Craig the win and first place.

(Craig seems to like the deepstacks as very rarely doesnt cash in this game and also took down a recent bigstack game in Dublin, Well done!)

The Winner
