Tuesday Report from the Old Forge League Final

The final table of the Old Forge League took place last night. It wasnt as fast as the Arklow Game as the betting was kept small and players were sitting on their stacks early on not wanting to give too much away.

Early on in the game pots were small, one or 2 went into the early 1000's but nothing too serious.

Jason O'Brien and Trevor Conyard clashed twice early. First Jason raised with Ace Queen and Trevor called with Ace Jack. An Ace on the flop, with a bet and call, check on the turn and check on the river where Trevor got there with his 2 pair.

Another hand trevor raised with Ace King and Jason called with Queen Jack. A jack on the flop was checked by jason, then a bet on the turn. A king on the river was checked where Trevor rivered the King for the pot.

A few big hands early on where Dan Bury raised preflop and was called by Jason. A 2,4,6 Hearts flop seen Dan lead out with Jason tanking and then going all in. Dan folded his Queens (one was a heart) with Jason showing 3s (straight flush draw).

Dan bury was the first to go. He called Niall Higgins raise and on a Jack High flop came over the top of Niall's c-bet and pushed all in. Niall snap called and tabled Queens and sent dan to the rails.

Larry Dias was next to go as he called Niall O'Connors raise with everyone else folding. On a low board, Niall bet, with Larry coming over the top and going all in. Niall thought for a min and called showing Kings to Larry's Jacks. No jack came and Larry was out in 8th.

Play was back and forth for a while with players still sitting on their stacks. Jason O'Brien and Niall O'Connor got caught up in a big pot which made Niall short stack. Jason raised pre flop, led on the flop and made another big bet on the turn which Niall called. the pot was over 15k at this stage and Jason went all in with Niall folding middle pair.

After the brak 5 hands in and we lost another 2 players. Out in 8th went Ciaran Connolly after he had pushed short stacked on a 7 high flop. Niall Higgins made the call and show 10,8 for an up and down straight draw and Ciaran holding the 7. Runner Runner hearts gave niall the flush and sent Ciaran to the bar.

A big pot soon played out with Paddy Clarke and Niall O'Connor. Paddy raised into Niall holding ace jack. Niall called the raise holding jack,8. a flop of queen, 10, 2, seen Paddy check, with niall checking behind. A 9 on the turn was checked by Paddy again with Niall betting 5k and being instacalled by paddy. A king on the river and paddy moves all in. Niall calls and shows the jack with paddy showing ace jack for the nut straight and crippling nialls stack.

Niall went soon after in 7th when he pushed all in after Paddy Clarkes raise holding 9s. Paddy called holding Jacks, and they held to put Niall out.

Johnny Dunne was to go in 6th after allowing himself to get short, he called Paddy Clarkes all in as he had no option otherwise he would have been blinded out.

Then there were 5! Play was back and forth as 4 tickets were up for grabs. Trevor Conyard had gone all in shot stacked with Ace Queen and was called by Niall Higgins and 9s. An ace on the flop put trevor back in the comfort zone for a little while and then there was 4.

Jason cooper moved all in holding ace queen in Jason O'Briens big blind. Jason only needed another 6k to call as the blind were 4k/8k and made the call holding ace 3. A 3 on the flop gave jason the pot and put Jason out in 5th with the remaining 4 players winning themselves a ticket each to the Fitz End of Month tonight.

Well done lads and best of luck.

Live updates

5 minutes back from the break we are down to 7 players as Larry Dias goes in 9th and Ciaran Connolly in 8th. Larry went out when he called Niall O'Connors raise holding jacks. On a low flop Niall called the all in holding Kings. A queen on the turn and 10 on the river sent Larry to the bar and a quick exit 3 hands after the break.

Next to go was Ciaran Connolly who pushed all in on a 7 high flop. He was called by Niall Higgins holding 10,9 for an up and down straight draw. Ciaran turned 2 pair but a 4th heart on the river gave Niall the flush and sent ciaran out in 8th.
