Well Done to Zoli Keres, Rob Browne and Stephen Balfe who all split our Friday €25 Re-entry tournament. With 55 players tonight our top prize paid €440 and the top 6 got paid. No Jackpot winner so next Fridays Jackpot will be €770

Star Poker New Wednesday League Rules

WEDNESDAY POKER TOURNAMENT LEAGUE

For 4 weeks Star Leisure Poker Room will run a Wednesday Tournament League from 28th of November up to 19th of December. Over These 4 nights players will receive points according to what position they finish in. The 3 players with the most points will receive a cash prize after the Tournament on 19th of December (Christmas Party).

The league prize pool will be created by taking €1 from each player’s entry fee every tournament and Star Leisure Poker Room will donate another €1 per person each tournament to double the prize pool.

I.E. If there is 70 runners in the tournament, €70 will be taken from the prize pool, and Star Leisure Poker Room will add another €70, giving €140 in total to the Tournament League prize fund. So over 4 weeks we should have some nice cash prizes.

Points system:

1st - 100 pts 6th - 42 pts 11th - 27 pts 16th - 21 pts 21st - 16 pts 26th - 11 pts
2nd - 80 pts 7th - 39 pts 12th - 25 pts 17th - 20 pts 22nd - 15 pts 27th - 10 pts
3rd - 60 pts 8th - 36 pts 13th - 24 pts 18th - 19 pts 23rd - 14 pts
4th - 50 pts 9th - 33 pts 14th - 23 pts 19th - 18 pts 24th - 13 pts
5th - 45 pts 10th - 30 pts 15th - 22 pts 20th - 17 pts 25th - 12 pts

Any player outside the top 27 will receive 5 pts.

First place overall in the League will receive 50% of the prize fund, with 30% going to 2nd and 20% going to third.

Star Poker Jackpot (Part 1)

Star Poker are bringing their nightly Jackpot to an end soon. The details are as follows:

POKER JACKPOT : will finish on 9th December 2012

All Jackpots not won will be given out in Cash Prizes in a raffle. The last Wednesday Jackpot will be on the 5th December and the draw will take place on 19th December at the Christmas Party. Tickets for Wednesdays draw will also be available on Wednesday 12th December, limited to one per person €5 each. For every entry in to the Jackpot since it started, each player will be issued one ticket. So players who entered the Jackpot more often will receive more tickets.

I.E. If you entered 10 Wednesday Jackpots you will have 10 tickets entered in to the draw and it means players can win more than one prize!

Newtown Friday Night Results

Congratulations to Dave Brewster who wons last nights game in Newtown. Dave beat 14 runners to take prize of €200. Jason O'Brien was 2nd for €130, Clifton Conyard 3rd for 100, Geraldine Nolan 4th for €50 and Robert Nolan 5th for €20. Best hand of the night was quad 10s for Mick Kearney.

Dave knocked robert out in 5th when he raised Robs BB with Ace 8 against 6,8. Jason knocked Geraldine out when he rivered a Queen against Geraldines 10s. Dave then knocked Clifton out when Clif pushed all in with QJ, Dave called with AQ and it held. Dave beat Jason heads up when Jason pushed with QJ, Dave woke up with Aces! Well done Dave.

Lynskeys Arklow Friday Night Report

Just 9 players this week, lots of regulars missing but a few new additions in the form of Carl, Craig & Jacob. 3rd for Carl. Deal made heads up between Niall O'Connor & Craig Ledwith. Craig had fought back from near elimination a few times. They played on for the last 20 euros and the glory of 1st place. A slightly mistimed 4 bet shove with 7c3c into JJ gave Craig the win.
Thats 3 guys more that'll be returning next week, expect bigger numbers.
Cash game was tame and peaked at 5 or 6 players

Star Poker Thursday Night Results

Congratulations to Tomas Galkus who won the Thursday €30 Scalp tournament. On the final hand Tomas shoved all-in with 5/5 against A/2, pre-flop. A board of 7,6,K,K,8 gave him the win. Tomas added to his prize fund by cashing in for €35 in Scalps. No Jackpot winner so next Thursdays Jackpot will be €310.

Saturday Night Poker

Star Poker Bray is on tonight and its the same tournament as a Friday Night "the double chance tournament. Be knocked out or go bust before the end of the break and you can rebuy again for €25 (20 plus 5 reg). Starts at 8.00pm and you can register up to 9.30pm. Blinds are 15 mins and a 10k starting stack. Refreshments served throughout and hot food served at the break. probably get 30 plus again tonight.

Cash Tables available when enough players are around to start. blinds are 25/50c, 10% rake once a flop is seen and capped at €3 per pot. I think the minimum you can buy onto cash for is €25 and the Maximum is €200

Friday Night Poker

Action for tonight is as follows:

Doyles Rathnew, starts at 8.00pm. Seems to be getting 2 tables consistently now. €20 buy in and a starting stack of 2.5k and a 20 min clock. You can rebuy/topup 3 times and if your gone before the break you can buy a deadstack and the 3 topups for €50. All money taken in on the night goes back out in the prizefund. This is the 8th/9th week of the Christmas roll over with €200 off the prizepool being held back. Play 7 out of the 12 weeks to qualify for the final night and your chance to win €1000 (i think the winner alone will win €1000!), right before christmas.

The Kennedy inn, Newtown. Starts at 8.00pm, buy in is €20, with a €20 top up. early bird chip of 1k if your there before 8. Starting stack of 10k and a 20 min clock. The topup/rebuy is also for 10k. Usually gets 2 tables and the standard of play is very high, and its a good game.

Star Poker Bray, have their €25 (20 plus 5 reg) double chance tournie. Bust or be knocked out before the end of the first break at 9.30pm and you can rebuy for a further €25. Starts at 8.00pm and you can late reg up to 9.30pm. Starting stack of 10k, 15 min blinds and usually 30 plus runners. I believe last week there was over 50 runners. Refreshments available throughout and hot food served at the break. Think the number hit 30/40 here tonight.

Cash tables run until late and usually have 2 going. 25/50c blinds. 10% rake once a flop is seen, capped at €3 per pot, again the 2 cash tables usually fill up fairly fast.

Also a game in Lynskeys of Arklow. Starting at 9pm, 10k stack, no reg 30 freezeout. No idea on structure/blinds.

1st off, we start in the Coach House Roundwood.
Kicks off at 8.00pm, Buy in is €35 (20 buy in, 10 top up and 5 reg). If you dont take the top-up its €25. The starting stacks are 5k and the top is the same. Blinds are 15/20. Hot food served on the break. Usually always has 2 tables. Friendly Game, new players welcome, Ritchie Cullen runs the game here.

Knock out any player and receive the €5 scalp. Starting stack of 10k and a 15 minute clock. Refreshments available throughout and hot food served at the break. Last week could have been over 40 players here.

The jackpot for each game is getting bigger every week so you should look into buying into this to. I have some details regarding the jackpots in bray and will post before the weekend as they are coming to an end in December.

The winners will be announced on the 23rd December 2012 at the Deepstack Event in the Grand Hotel Wicklow (Details to be posted very soon). There will be 5 awards, nothing serious just something small(piece of glass/trophy) and the categories are as follows:

Wednesday Night Poker

Kicking us off is Star Poker Bray and their €20 (15 plus 5 reg)Freezeout tournament. Kicking off at 8.00pm, you can late reg up to the end of the break at 9.30pm. Blinds are 15 minutes and you have a 10k starting stack. Refreshments available throughout and sambos served at the break (30 minute break from 9-9.30pm). The busiest night in the Poker room nearly always gets 60/70 plus, some weeks it even breaks the 80 mark.

Cash Games Available around 10 o'clock and the tables fill up very quickly. blinds 25/50c, rake is 5% once a flop is seen and capped at €3. Usually fills the 2 tables.

There was a game in Sally O'Briens, Arklow, but this I believe is no more.

Whistlers League:

Week 9 of the Whistlers league continues tonight. Whistlers will put up €50 a week towards the league which Conor estimates will be a €1500 league final of which €1000 is gaurenteed!

Buy in is €20 in with 1 rebuy or top up @ €20, starting stack will be 8000, rebuys 9K or if you dont rebuy before the break you can Top up for 11k. Old Forge Tuesday Night Results

Congratulation to Dan Bury who beat a field of 19 runners to win last nights game in the Old Forge Wicklow. Dan beat Jason Cooper heads up for the win. Niall O'Connor was 3rd and Niall Higgins 4th. Best hand of the night was quad Kings for Paddy Kavanagh which earned him 5k in chips before the break.

Tuesday Night Poker

The first game to report is in the Olde Forge Wicklow Town, being run by Trevor Conyard from WicklowPkrScene/Chip & a Chair Poker Events. Week 16 of the league continues tonight.

Kicking off at 8pm, reg from 7.30pm, €35 freezeout (25 plus 5 reg ) Starting stack of 9k, early bird chip of 1000 for anyone in their seat by 8 and an extra 500 if you confirm by text 0868446556.

Best hand before the break tonight gets 5k in chips.

Consistently hits the 20 mark, last week we had 25 runner and new faces playing every week. Paddy Clarke has taken over the top spot in the league from Niall O'Connor. Craig Flanagan won last weeks event and got 40 points for his troubles. Can he make it 3 in a row?

Congratulations to Bobby McGee who beat a field of 12 players and Niall O'Connor heads up to win last night game in Arklow. Bobby has had 2 runner up finishes in the last 3 weeks and went one better by winning last night. Niall O'Connor was 2nd with Larry Devereaux 3rd. Niall collected an extra 25/30 in scalps, with bobby just the 1 and larry 3.

A small cash game got going for an hour or 2 as well, which is the 3rd week in a row now, so hopefully this will continue for a while.

Congratulations to Jimmy Brandon, who defeated a field of 37 players to win Sundays' €20 Freezeout. With a substantial chip lead heads up, Jimmy called an "All in" with K6 and was up against A3. After dodging an Ace high flush draw on the flop, Jimmy hit an off suit 6 on the turn to secure the win.

Congratulations to Pedro Ionas who won Saturdays €25 re-entry tournament. He beat a field of 34 players to claim 1st prize of €308. On the final hand he called a shove with KQ and was up against A7.The board ran out K62T4 to give him the win.

Tournament players are also part of a league for 2 UKIPT Cork tickets worth €770 each that takes place in February 2013. Top 9 players at the end of the league qualify for the final table and top 2 of final table win a ticket each. Players chipstacks are calculated based on the amount of points they accumulate throughout the league and there are already over 50 players on the league table. €40 is taken from the pot each week to make the money for the 2 tickets.

With over 50 players in the league, the action at the top is heating up. Larry, Reimo and Darek are nearly guaranteed a final spot already, as they have a monster lead, but the final 7 places are anybodys as its quite close!
