Phil Hellmuth

I had to post this, because as much as he has his bad traits, moans, behaviour etc he is one hell of a poker player.

Phil Hellmuth takes down the WSOPE main event for 1 Million Euros and a 13th WSOP bracelet.

I believe Doyle Brunson said it last year, maybe he will get the credit he deserves after his 12th win. If he didnt then, he surely should now!

Friday Night Poker

Action for tonight is as follows:

Doyles Rathnew, starts at 8.00pm. Seems to be getting 2 tables consistently now. €20 buy in and a starting stack of 2.5k and a 20 min clock. You can rebuy/topup 3 times and if your gone before the break you can buy a deadstack and the 3 topups for €50. All money taken in on the night goes back out in the prizefund. Peter Porter has been keeping me informed of winners and pictures when he goes here. John Clarke and Harry Murphy split pot last week. This is the 3rd week of the Christmas roll over with €200 off the prizepool being held back. Play 7 out of the 12 weeks to qualify for the final night and your chance to win €1000, right before christmas.

The Kennedy inn, Newtown. Starts at 8.00pm, buy in is €20, with a €20 top up. early bird chip of 1k if your there before 8. Starting stack of 10k and a 20 min clock. The topup/rebuy is also for 10k. Usually gets 2 tables and the standard of play is very high, last week again had 2 tables.

Star Poker Bray, have their €25 (20 plus 5 reg) double chance tournie. Bust or be knocked out before the end of the first break at 9.30pm and you can rebuy for a further €25. Starts at 8.00pm and you can late reg up to 9.30pm. Starting stack of 10k, 15 min blinds and usually 30 plus runners. Refreshments available throughout and hot food served at the break. Think the number hit 30/40 here tonight.

Cash tables run until late and usually have 2 going. 25/50c blinds. 10% rake once a flop is seen, capped at €3 per pot, again the 2 cash tables usually fill up fairly fast.

Also a game in Lynskeys of Arklow. Buy in €35 (30 plus 5 freezeout). run by the same guys that run the sally game on a wednesday DR Poker, Im not sure of the blinds/starting stack or number here. Starts at 8pm sharp and you can reg from 7.30pm. Early bird chip for players in their seats before the game starts and 500 bonus for players who confirm their entry by text 0868095286. Cash game available afterwards to.

Have a good weekend and good luck at the tables.

Star Poker Bray Thursday Night Results

Congratulations to Andrew Balfe who won our Thursday €30 Scalp tournament. Top spot paid €270 and Andrew got another €35 in scalps. 30 runners meant the top 4 were paid. With a big chip lead Andrew pushed all-in pre-flop with K/J and got called by Q/9. The board ran out 5/3/7/3/6 to give Andrew the win. The poker jackpot rolls over to next week.

Cash Game

Just something to throw out there for all you cash Players. I was thinking of running a 1 table cash game providing there is 9 players of course! Minimum buy in €100 with a max of €300. The rake will be 5% once a flop is seen capped at €5, so there wont be too much taken out of the pot (50c for a €10 pot). Blinds will be €1/€2.

I know of a lot of players around Wicklow Town who prefer a cash game, so Comments here would be appreciated to see if this could be taken any further. The game itself would run for about 4/5 hours or until theres no money left!

cheers.

Wednesday Night Poker

Kicking us off is Star Poker Bray and their €20 (15 plus 5 reg)Freezeout tournament. Kicking off at 8.00pm, you can late reg up to the end of the break at 9.30pm. Blinds are 15 minutes and you have a 10k starting stack. Refreshments available throughout and sambos served at the break (30 minute break from 9-9.30pm). The busiest night in the Poker room always gets 50 plus. If you read the reports I receive from star its the busies night of the poker week anywhere around wicklow, I think last week there were over 80 players!!

Cash Games Available around 10 o'clock and the tables fill up very quickly. blinds 25/50c, rake is 3% once a flop is seen and capped at €3. Usually fills the 2 tables.

There is another game in Sally O'Briens in Arklow. Its a €50 freezeout, with a 15k starting stack and early bird chip of 1k if you confirm by text 0868095286. Its been run by DR Poker (james/Miley).

Game run by Conor Hogan and last week had 12/13 runners with 1 full table on the cash later

Good luck at the tables.

Old Forge Tuesday Night Results

Congratulations to Paddy Clarke, who took down last nights game and week 10 of the Fitz EOM tournie in The Old Forge Wicklow. Paddy and Ciaran Connolly decided to chop heads up, and Paddy took first as he had the bigger chip lead. Karl Larkin was 3rd, with Dan Bury 4th.

Last nights game was a scalp tournament, so Ciaran Connolly had an additional €30 as he had 6 scalps & Paddy Clarke had 4, who were the 2 biggest on the night.

Last night had 20 runners, again with some regulars who couldnt make it or didnt show, so as ive said before the numbers here are getting bigger and bigger. There are over 40 players on the league table.

Each week I am trying tp do something different, with a bounty on my head or free entry or with last nights game being a scalp game, so next week it will be different again.

A cash game got going later on with 7/8 players, which hasnt happened in a while!
Thanks to all players who came and hope to see you (most of you) next week.

Tuesday Night Poker

The first game to report is in the Olde Forge Wicklow Town tonight. Week 10 of the league continues tonight.

Kicking off at 8pm, reg from 7.30pm, €35 freezeout (25 plus 5 reg plus 5 scalp) Starting stack of 9k, early bird chip of 1000 for anyone in their seat by 8 and an extra 500 if you confirm by text 0868446556.

TONIGHT IS A SCALP TOURNAMENT! knock any player out to receive €5 scalp.

Consistently hits the 20 mark, and some new faces every week. Niall O'Connor currently leads the way in the league. Larry Dias won last weeks tournament with Johnny Dunne coming 2nd.

Updated league available tonight also.

Cash Game available afterwards,50c/€1 blinds, rake 5% once a flop is seen capped at €5 per pot.

Finally, the Tuesday game in Jacobs Well, Rathdrum.

Each week they alternate between 2 games. 1 game is a €50 freezeout. starting stack is 62k (you are reading this correctly), blinds are 15/20 mins. no money kept behind all is paid out in prizefunds. starts at 8.30 and can run for a while with a stack this big!!

Their 2nd game is €30, with a €10 rebuy only for the first 3 levels. starting stack is not as big, i believe its around the 20k mark, and blinds are as above 15/20 mins.

Pot Limit cash game also runs when enough players are knocked out of the game. I believe they agreed on pot limit as some nights the money on the table would be ridiculous, with players losing what they cant afford!!

Good luck at the table Folks.

The Old Ship Monday Night Report

Well Done to Craig Ledwith who for the 2nd week in a row, took down Monday Nights game in the Old Ship Arklow. Not only did Craig get the win, but 40 Points for winning 2 in a row, which propels him up the league. Craig Called Larry Devereaux all in on a flop of 7,6,2 rainbow, when holding 6,5 off. Larry was ahead with 7,4, however craig hit a 5 on the turn and Larry blanked on the river to give craig the win. Unlucky Larry.

Karl Larkin was 3rd and Dariusz Denisiuk 4th. Last night had 11 runners, with a few regulars not able to make it so hopefully next week even bigger numbers.
