First off let me wish all the readers a very happy new year. Lets hope you all get what you wish for this year in respect of your poker!!
Moving forward I have been asked to start a home game on Pokerstars (thanks to rowan for this as it actually wasnt something i had thought of). This will be a weekly game of maybe a €20/$20 buy in and it will be open to all players (Co wicklow area, if possible). I will be the poker manager for this account. Really this should be fun but please be aware there will be money on the line, so rules are rules.
To join, log onto pokerstars and ask to join our game through the home games lobby. Pokerstars will then email me your details and I can accept/reject you. (Even if accepted, I have the option to revoke the invite at a later stage if there are complaints against any player).
1. I have set up the clubname as Wicklowpkrscene (Capital W).
2. The club ID is 882428
3. Enter the invitation code Homegame (Capital H)
And Voila!!!! your in and we can start as soon as we like. We dont have to have one game per week, depending on players we can do a nightly, we can do whatever we like.
Just to let all players know, I get nothing/Nada/zip from this. No rakeback, no entries NOTHING. My entry fee will be coming out of my account like anyone else.
This could be good people as I know a lot of people play on stars and all in all its good for the Poker community of Wicklow. It can only help us get better as well!! We can learn from each other. The social aspect of it, when meeting at other games as well will be good.
Now Secondly, I have spoken to 2 Irish Poker Pros and Genuine nice guys Dara O'Kearney and Jason Tompkins about a weekly/monthly questions and answers session. Its costing nothing all I need from my Readers are questions to ask the 2 lads and we can see how the Pro sees it!!!
In case anyone doesnt know the 2 guys I have asked, there are 2 reasons why I chose who i chose.
Firstly Dara O'Kearney in terms of Online is a beast/animal, hes just plain ridicolous. Looking at his graphs this year he has won over/close to €250k. He was the UKIPT top online qualifier and most recently has shipped 4 (four) Irish open packages on Paddy Power. I have asked dara stuff about poker before and he was kind enough to help me out. Dara also nearly Min cashes every live event he plays so he knows a thing or two.
Secondly, Jason Tompkins, hes currently abroad in Australia but has agreed to do this. Jason has came 3rd in a Pokerstars sunday million for over 100k, has final tabled a WSOP, UKIPT & EPT event. I cant say anymore about him, he knows his shit!!
PLEASE FOR THIS TO WORK, I NEED YOU THE PLAYERS/READERS TO EMAIL ME, TWITTER ME OR FACEBOOK QUESTIONS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE ANSWERING. Like what to do in certain spots, do you call with XX, Strategy anything at all, These guys have agreed to answer your questions FOR FREE!! It can only help you as a player. If you think your too good to learn anything off these guys well Ill say no more!! one thing I have learned and am continously told is you can never stop learning or wanting to learn in Poker. If you do well your going nowhere.
I have one or 2 more ACES up my sleeve reagrding a forum and poker player profiles but will leave this until later in the new year. Wicklowpkrscene is for the People of Co Wicklow to learn where there are games, get results from different games etc and Now this year Im deciding to go a little bit further, which im hoping will help.
